Title: Implementation of sensor-based technology and Data Mining Technology in Construction Sites to improve WSH statistics   1. Introduction This report has been developed in response to Workplace Health and Safety (WSH) request for proposals to improve safety in a construction site in Singapore. This proposal focuses how technology such as Heat and Motion Sensors and Data Mining Technology mitigates the challenges of working on a typical site in Singapore and how it can benefit the various stakeholders. 1.1 Background Definition Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) is a multidisciplinary field concerned with protecting the health and safety of all stakeholders in a workplace from exposure to hazards, mishaps and risks resulting from work activities.   In the Article, ‘’Singapore Water Story’’ from the Public Utilities Board (PUB) (2020), PUB reports that water consumption is expected to double up in the future as water demand will continue to rise in conjunction with continued population growth and economic development. Hence, in order to ensure sufficient water is available for future generations, PUB has come up with various approaches such as the “Four National Taps’’, it meets the requirement within the drinking water guidelines and is also safe to drink without filtration. In addition, various programmes under ABC Waters were introduced like the Kallang River project. It does not only transform a canal into a picturesque river teeming with life but also to encourage everyone to participate actively so that they can appreciate this precious resource. Ultimately, giving recognition for their remarkable support towards the water cause which will motivate others to reduce and monitor their own water consumption level.  S...

Thesis statement Singapore was able to overcome its lack of natural resources to meet the needs of a growing nation through the holistic approach of the Four National Taps. However, installing the infrastructure to supply water is only half of the equation. Ultimately, it's the responsibility of not only the individuals but also educating the public to use water wisely.  Due to Singapore's challenging history with fresh water, Singapore has placed a heavy emphasis on its conservation. Even though most local water conservation work is originated by the PUB which helps to control water supply through the innovation of new technology. However, there is only so much they can achieve without the nation’s population acting wisely to conserve this limited resource. Hence, as an individual, we can start by making a difference by adopting good water saving habits. For instance, taking shorter showers which will help to reduce water wastage. According to PUB, Smart Shower Programme. I...

Hence, in order to ensure sufficient water is available for all, PUB has come up with various approaches which are known as the “Four National Taps’’, it meets the requirement within the World Health Organization drinking water guidelines and is also safe to drink without filtration. In addition, various programmes were implemented under ABC Waters to not only create clean and beautiful rivers but also to encourage everyone to take part so that they can appreciate this precious resource. Summary draft 1

According to the Public Utilities Board (2020), it states that water consumption in Singapore is about 430 million gallons (mgd) per day as of today which is equivalent to 782 Olympic-sized swimming pools, with non-domestic buildings consuming at a higher percentage than homes. It is expected to double by 2060 because of the rising demand for water in non-domestic categories. Therefore, in order to meet the demand of the country’s water needs, a well-structured plan and well designed water infrastructure is essential to ensure sufficient water is available for future generations. PUB addresses the importance of conserving water which requires the commitment and participation of the community and their approach is to diversify water supply, encouraging the community to take part so that they can better appreciate and treasure this precious resource. Lastly, giving recognition for their remarkable support towards the water cause.
